Title: Grace and Humility

All that we are and all that we have is all because of God, all because of His grace. The life we have is a gift from God.
Having this in mind keeps us in the state of humility. Humility is the state of being lowly in position or spirit.
God is the Sovereign King who created all things by His power and owns everything.
No one created God, He has existed from eternity. He has no beginning and He has no end. He is Almighty and no one is beside Him.
But praise be unto God that He has given us life to experience His amazing love, His goodness and His awesome power. He has considered us as His children and that He intends to give us the best.

What can we learn about Grace and Humility?

  1. Jesus humbled Himself that we may be redeemed. Philippians 2:5‭-‬8 ESV
“Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross.”
  2. Jesus embodied Humility. Matthew 11:28‭-‬30 NLT
Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.”
  3. Jesus humbled Himself and God the Father exalted Him. Philippians 2:9‭-‬11 NIV
“Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”

James 4:10 NIV
“Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up.”
Luke 14:11 NIV
“For all those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.”

God wants to bless us and we need to be in the right position of receiving what He has for us. As children and ambassadors of His kingdom we need to be clothed in grace and humility. We are called to represent Him wherever we are and whoever we talk to.
We are also reminded that we need to thank God always and acknowledge that it is all because of His grace.

God gives grace to the humble.

Father in heaven, we thank You for Your amazing grace, for saving us, for restoring us to our original position as Your sons and daughters. May we fulfill Your purpose in us. Guide us and lead us to where you want us to go. We submit to Your power and authority. We thank Your wondrous unconditional love for us. May You be glorified in everything that we do. This we pray in the mighty Name of our Lord and King Jesus Christ. Amen.
